The Corrugated Product Manager at Butler Merchandising Solutions, LLC will be responsible for supporting the sales organization by providing fast, accurate cost estimates for custom jobs while simultaneously evaluating the business to develop standardized product offerings. This role requires a strategic thinker who can optimize our estimating processes, identify commonalities across projects, and leverage our manufacturing and margin expertise to drive profitability and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, industry expertise, and the ability to create structured solutions that improve turnaround time and support long-term growth.


This role is pivotal in both supporting the sales team with accurate quoting for custom jobs and identifying opportunities to develop standardized products. The right candidate will be instrumental in enhancing efficiency, increasing margins, and driving growth within our Corrugated Products Division.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare fast, accurate cost estimates by gathering project specifications, analyzing vendor quotations, and evaluating production methods to support the sales organization in quoting custom jobs.
  • Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements, ensuring profitability and competitive pricing.
  • Ability to adjust estimating logic and pricing without impacting the business as cost variables change.
  • Present cost estimates and pricing recommendations to account managers and clients.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to understand labor requirement of operations and to communicate project lead-times.
  • Implement standardized estimating tools and processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in cost calculations.
  • Reduce the daily volume of one-off estimates by implementing a structured approach to productized quoting.
  • Organize existing quotes and projects into product categories to identify opportunities for standardization and improved efficiencies.
  • Analyze market trends and customer requests to collaborate with internal teams on the development of standard products that maximize manufacturing capabilities and margins.
  • Lead process improvements that enhance estimating efficiency and support revenue growth.
  • Refine specifications to enhance production efficiency, lower costs, and improve suitability for end use.
  • Support relationships with vendors and negotiate pricing to maximize cost-effectiveness.
  • This role has day-to-day managerial responsibility over two Estimators.
  • Other projects as assigned or needed.

Required Education & Experience

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on numerical accuracy and efficiency.
  • Experience in Product Management, Financial Analysis, Estimating or Cost Accounting.
  • Minimum 2 years of estimating or product management experience.
  • Experience in corrugated packaging, commercial printing, or related industries preferred but not necessary.
  • Managerial experience is a plus.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in a professional business environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant estimating software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and follow-through.
